The Kentucky School of Alcohol and Other Drug Studies (KSAODS) is sponsored by the Kentucky Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities (DBHDID) and the Training Resource Center at Eastern Kentucky University.
The Kentucky School is held annually in July. Each year, more than 1,200 Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio professionals from the alcohol and drug treatment, mental health, prevention and other related fields gather to hear from national and state leaders on the up-and-coming theories of practice in the behavioral health world.
KSAODS begins on Sunday afternoon with a participant check-in period and a "Grass Roots" presentation and networking reception (generally 5:007:00 p.m). Plenary sessions are held Monday through Wednesday, with two half-day sessions (no plenary) on Thursday.
Preregistration is required, and participants may attend any or all sessions. Registration is conducted online on the KSAODS website and usually opens in May.
Here are a few comments from past participants:
- "There were a wide variety of topics from which to choose.”
- "Registration was easy; it was a good venue, and there were really great trainers.”
- "There was lots of great information for people starting in the field.”
Certificates of Attendance and CEUs are available for a variety of professional licensure boards.
For access to your certificate of attendance for 2019 forward, click the "CEUs and Certificates" link at the top of the KY School home page. For access to your certificate for a previous year, click "Certificates" in the Related Links box.
We look forward to seeing you at the Kentucky School for Alcohol and Other Drug Studies in July 2021.
