Do you need information on mental health services? Substance use treatment? Services for a person with a developmental or intellectual disability? We can help!
Three community mental health center (CMHC) regions in Kentucky have specialized Deaf Mental Health Services. Access the links below for more information.
Below is a list of the CMHCs. For more specific information, access their individual websites by clicking on the CMHC's name.
- Seven Counties Services has deaf staff who can provide therapy and case management directly in ASL. They also have a psychiatrist who has worked with the deaf community for more than 15 years.
- New Vista (formerly Bluegrass) was the first Community Mental Health Center with a Deaf Services program.
- Cumberland River Behavioral Health currently has one deaf individual providing targeted case management services.
Psychiatric care is available through qualified interpreters. For a video explaining psychiatric care, access the "Psychiatric Care" link in the Related Links box.
Each CMHC also has DHHS contacts. Their job is to help make sure interpreters are provided and services are accessible. Use the "CMHC Contacts" link the Related Links box for a list of contacts.
