Join us for the 41st annual
Kentucky School of Alcohol & Other Drug Studies
Kentucky’s 41st annual Kentucky School of Alcohol and Other Drug Studies (KSAODS) will be held July 13-17, 2014, at the Crowne Plaza in Louisville, Kentucky.
Each year, as many as 700 Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio professionals from the alcohol, drug treatment, mental health, prevention and other related fields gather to hear from national and state leaders on the up-and-coming theories of practice in the mental health and substance abuse world.
Sessions begin on Sunday afternoon and run through Thursday afternoon. A complete schedule of workshops and plenary speakers will be available in the course catalog, whose release is expected in June 2014. The general format for each day will include a morning plenary speaker followed by a day-long workshop.
Also included is the annual awards banquet on Tuesday evening, at which individuals and agencies are honored for their work in the areas of treatment, prevention, volunteerism, community service, and lifetime achievement. An inspirational speaker from the substance abuse field will be our guest presenter. Kentucky’s week-long Leadership Academy is also held during the week of KSAODS.
Certification and continuation education, nursing contact hours and other professional credit hours are available. Scholarships are available for Kentucky residents, but the number is limited. Those who require scholarships should apply as early as possible once the scholarship application is released.
KSAODS is sponsored each year by the Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities, Eastern Kentucky University, and Prevention Research Institute, Inc.
