The Kentucky School of Alcohol and Other Drug Studies is held annually during July. Hundreds of alcohol and drug prevention and treatment professionals from across Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio attend each year. The site of this event is the campus of Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Kentucky.

Registration begins Sunday afternoon, and a plenary opening session follows the registration period. Workshops begin Monday morning after an opening plenary session. Please view the Course Catalog in the Related Links box for a complete schedule and other information.

The Tuesday evening awards banquet features a plenary speaker. At the banquet, the Robert Straus Awards are presented to individuals and agencies for recognition in the areas of treatment, prevention, volunteerism, community service, advocacy and lifetime achievement.

Certification and continuation education, nursing contact hours and other professional credit hours are available. Scholarships are available for Kentucky residents, but they are limited, so please apply as soon as possible.

Sponsors for the school are the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, the Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities Division of Behavioral Health, and Prevention Research Institute, Inc.
